The Hans Christian Offshore Explorer was designed as a rugged, blue water sailboat fully capable of circumnavigating the world while offering luxury and comfort that can be appreciated out at sea or on a coastal cruise. Designed by two of the best names in the business, Chuck Paine and Nigel Calder, and built to legendary Hans Christian specifications, this yacht has been well maintained by a cruising couple who sail the Caribbean.
The Offshore Explorer features a traditional three stateroom, two head layout, and top quality construction by Hans Christian. Steal Away comes from the drawing board of Bruce Roberts and the legendary craftsmen at Little Harbor Marine and The Hinckley Company, in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Her steel hull was manufactured by Ocean Star Marine in Pas Christian, Mississippi, in accordance with the specifications and blueprints provided by Bruce Roberts, a world-renown leader in the design of steel cruising sailboats. The bare hull was shipped to The Little Harbor Marine Boatyard where the steel was immediately protected with Awlgrip’s maximum barrier paint systems. Over the next ten years, utilizing the “off-season” rates of the boatyard, the interior was constructed, the electronics, plumbing, machinery and equipment were fitted out and the standing and running rigging installed. Her original owners had sailed around the world on a wooden Cheoy Lee ketch. They knew what was needed to stay safe and remain independent in any part of the world. Her bank of solar panels in combination with the wind generator provides luxury living with iced drinks and movies at night while at anchor or at sea.
Steal Away shows beautifully and is in superb condition including new exterior Awlgrip and interior Epifanes varnish. She is conveniently located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
35' Boston Whaler Defiance
Rabbit’s Habit is a 2002 Boston Whaler Defiance with a marlin tower. This boat has had the same owner since late 2004. She has been well maintained with only 1100 hours on her twin inboard Yanmar 420 HP diesels giving her a top speed of 32 Knots and cruise speed of 28 Knots.
