6222372_0_020520171630_0 42' Grand Banks

1988 Grand Banks 42 Classic Trawler

Gadabaut has many custom features for cruising in comfort.   Her many energy saving features include 600 watt solar panels which power 12 volt refrigeration and built in 2.8 cu ft, 12 volt freezer, along with the Princess propane stove with oven.  The Xantrac 3000 watt inverter coordinates the ships power needs.  For shorter solar hour days, there is an Air-X wind generator.  If you’ve binge watching movies on a grey windless day, the batteries can be recharged with the Westerbeke 8KW generator.  This system also operates the larger 25 GPH watermaker and the Maytag front loading washing machine.  If you encounter full sun days with a good breeze you can make some water with the 12 volt watermaker.

The port side settee area observed on most GB42’s has been converted to a computer/radio station for the captain’s monitoring of the weather.  The main salon cushions have been redone.  The fly-bridge cushions have been redone to include Dri-Fast foam.  Other additions on the fly-bridge include starboard dinette and drink holders.  The wind screen is new Lexan.

Gadabaut’s custom dingy davit allows single handed launching and retrieving of the 10 foot AB inflatable with the 15HP Yamaha.  Additional securing straps are used for passage making trips.  By not having the dinghy in the traditional GB position on the cabin top, crew members are able to work the side deck without obstruction. The original dinghy base on the cabin top has been modified to hold kayaks (no kayak included).

The white window screen coverings, a textilene material with an open weave that allows ventilation without bugs or no-see-ums, provide shade and privacy. The aft deck teak has been removed to allow rebuilding of the lazarette hatches and addition of fiberglass decking material.

The main salon lighting has been upgraded for comfortable reading.

The standard ice maker has been removed and converted to a liquor locker.  The ice maker has high quality stainless steel cube trays efficiently frozen in the top of the 12 volt refrigeration system in the main salon.

There are many custom electronic gauges. All are designed to provide information on various system, preventing problems and breakdowns.

Gadabaut is a very comfortable and efficient trawler for enjoyment of the cruising lifestyle.
