38' Viking Convertible 1992

courtship

Court Ship is a rare variant of the popular Viking 38 series with three helm stations. In addition to the standard bridge helm, she has an inside helm in the salon and a backing station in the cockpit. She has the single stateroom (Plan A) layout with a step-down dinette and island berth forward. This 38-footer (over 45′ counting the swim platform and bow pulpit) is the smallest Viking made and includes all the quality hardware of larger Vikings. She is a fast, elegant convertible that one can be unabashedly proud of owning. Underneath, she delivers in spades with a technically advanced hull shape, combining a clean-tracking forefoot with a dry ride. The aft-planing fairbody delivers efficient, high speed, while reverse-radius chine enhances sea-tracking ability. Court Ship underwent a $57,000 refit in 2001 and has been carefully maintained and constantly upgraded by her current owner. She is located just north of Fort Lauderdale in Pompano Beach. "Tom Harney and Jordan Yacht and Ship Co MADE OUR SALE. They positioned our Hylas 45.5 Sloop, "Wild Hair," in the world’s epicenter of sailboat sales, coached us in readying the boat, stored the dinghy and other bulky items offsite, produced a top-notch sales video, and—within a month—found our buyer. Then, when the survey revealed thorny deal-killers, they protected our “bottom line” by helping pull exhaust hoses, re-bed deck fittings, and changing lifelines. Since our previous listing agent was a passive paper pusher, we never dreamed a brokerage would work so hard!" - Heather & Dave Mann, Hylas 45.5 SV Wild Hair
