Tropical Storm Isaac came through South Florida this weekend. Here in Fort Lauderdale, we saw only 30 knot winds but a great deal of rain and flooding in low areas. Most boats checked their lines and maybe doubled up, but few stripped canvas. Looking out the window, all the jibs of the sailboats in the marina are still up. I ran around to look after yachts whose owners are afar, hit the beach to surf some waves, and then hunkered down as it became a bit too gnarly out there. Please feel free to check out the archives for a three part series on hurricanes that features a a hurricane story, notes on places to hide out for hurricanes in Fort Lauderdale, and details on what might constitute a good dock.
